On draft day in 2003, I remember sitting by the phone waiting for the NFL teams to call and offer me a deal. Thirty one out of the thirty two teams in the NFL decided that I wasn’t worth that call. I received one call and that call was from the Cleveland Browns. I often wonder how many opportunities are missed because people don’t have the ambition and patience to be there for the one. That one missed opportunity could have been the opportunity that could have changed your life and given you the very things for which you have been striving. Only one team called me on draft day and I signed my first NFL contact with that team. To put this into perspective, that one call took years of hard work and relentless effort before it materialized. Since that day, that one phone call has opened up a world of opportunities for me. When things are looking bleak and you’re feeling discouraged, just know that you’re only one phone call, one meeting, one client, one company, or one contact away from breaking through. My friends, all it takes is one.
